Travel Award

We are pleased to announce that the Southeast Asian Western Pacific Regional Federation of Pharmacologists (SEAWP-RFP) and the Japanese Pharmacological Society (JPS) have provided fund for 30-40 travel awards.

The SEAWP-RFP-JPS travel awards will be at least $500(US) for applicants from China, Korea and Taiwan, and at least $700(US) for applicants resident elsewhere in the SEAWP region (e.g. Thailand, Malaysia). The value of awards may be increased if funding permits. In the first instance, preference will be given to Young Investigators (i.e. PhD students and applicants less than 6 years post-doctoral).
Note that travel grants for registrants from Australia and New Zealand will be funded separately by ASCEPT.

The Organising Committee of the 11th SEAWP-JPS meeting, to be held in Yokohama from 22-24 March 2011, is happy to announce that 43 travel awards were provided to assist young scientists from the SEAWP region to attend the meeting. All applications were assessed by a sub-committee (comprising Professors Chan, Iino and Miners) and found to be worthy of support. The travel awards will be paid to recipients at the meeting. The Executive Committee of SEAWP-RFP is especially grateful to Professor Iino and his colleagues on the JPS Organising Committee for their generosity in making these awards possible.

Prof. John Miners (SEAWP-RFP President)
