Announcing AWARDS Presented at XXVIth IBC2012
At the IBC 2012 in Kobe, Japan, the IBS will present IBC awards in two categories, as detailed below.
If your abstract has been accepted for poster presentation then you are eligible to apply to be considered for the "Best Poster Presentation Prize". To apply you need to have registered by May 31st, and to submit a final draft of your poster (as either a pdf or PowerPoint file) by August 17th to ibcprizes@tibs.org. All submitted draft posters will then be assessed by a sub-group of the International Programme Committee, and a short-list identified for assessment during the conference itself. Please note that you should not expect to make any major changes to your poster between this submission and presentation at the conference.
If you are a student and your abstract has been accepted for oral presentation, you are eligible to apply to be considered for the "Best Student Oral Presentation Prize". To apply you need to have registered (as a student delegate) by May 31st, and also to submit a final draft of your presentation (as either a PowerPoint or pdf file) by August 17th to ibcprizes@tibs.org. All submitted draft presentations will then be assessed by a sub-group of the International Programme Committee, and a short-list identified for assessment during the conference itself. Please note that you should not expect to make any major changes to your presentation between this submission and making the presentation at the conference. Any student who has been selected to present in the Youth Statisticians Showcase (and thereby receive financial support to attend the conference) will not be eligible for the "Best Student Oral presentation Prize".
Best Student Oral Paper at the IBC (2 students)

| Eligible: | Any oral paper presented by a student at the conference (the student should be a member of the IBS) |
| Application: | At the point of submission of the abstract (with certification of student status |
| Timetable: | Application at abstract submission; Judging during oral sessions at the IBC; |
| Selection: | By selection through a small ad-hoc committee drawn from the organizing committees. Judgment to be based on scientific content and the good quality of the oral and visual presentation. |
Best Poster Presentation at the IBC (2 presenters)
| Aim: | To promote the use of poster presentations and encourage the participation of all delegates in the poster sessions |

| Eligible: | Any poster presentation accepted for presentation during a poster session |
| Application: | At the point of submission of the abstract |

| Selection: | By selection through a small ad-hoc committee drawn from the organizing committees. Judgment to be based on scientific content and the good use of the poster format. |
Travel Awards for IBC 2012
Travel funds may be available to eligible IBS members to attend our IBC2012.
